…So What’s New?

We fired the other guy. He’s dead.

If you’re new here, welcome!

To my eagle-eyed friends who have been here before, yes, the website and blog now look different. This is a short post about how. And maybe why?

I can’t afford Gritty. (Also, this is not Alli)

I Don’t Deserve My Wife

First of all, another shout-out and declaration of undying love for my wife partner, Allisyn.

If you know me at all, you know that I mention her a lot because I’m genuinely semi-codependent and we’re both Pisces (it’s gross). You also may know that she spearheaded the design of my previous website and has done so again.

She’s outdone herself this time. I’m perhaps biased, but I love it, and I think she knocked it out of the fucking park. So kudos to her for not only working out all the infrastructure, but for wrangling my neurodivergent ass and patiently explaining to me why certain spaces and lines need to be in certain places to make the site talk to itself better.

So! What’s the nitty-gritty of all the changes?

COLOR!!! (and more…)

There’s so much more color now. Yellows, greens, blacks, reds. The other was mostly gray. Or grey. Is it gray or grey? There’s a rule for it. I forget which. I’ll look it up in a minute.

But yeah, go take a look at that spanking new Plays page and peep those sexy new palettes.

You might also notice that instead of delineating the plays by their lengths (which, admittedly, is still sort of the case), I’ve added a new step at the top where you can sort them by my big, favorite three: absurdism, folklore, and horror (and everything else). Everything is sorted into one of those headings.

I’ve done this in attempt to make searching and combing my work easier for anybody that might not have a specific play in mind. Rather than looking through a massive list of samey text or drop-down menus, I’m hoping that choosing a category and being brought to a smaller, more focused list of plays might help with navigation, whether you’re familiar with my work or no. Then they’re sorted by length. And alphabetically. Because ADHD.

Okay?

Right, so maybe we don’t care about any of that. I will say that’s the biggest difference you’ll encounter. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the others are mainly that my production photos and acting photos (and some new stuff) have all went through a The Fly situation and morphed into one horrible, grotesque hybrid abomination.

It’s the Media page! It’s actually very pretty. Go check it out. There’s sure to be something you haven’t seen before.

This Last Part We’ll Figure Out Together

At the bottom of every page, you’ll also notice in the footer there’s now an option to sign up for a monthly newsletter about my antics. I have never written a monthly newsletter. Maybe you’ve never willingly signed up for one. But America is dying, let’s do something new and dangerous together. Let’s have some Type 3 fun. I’ll find something interesting to talk about, whether it’s stuff I’m working on, stuff I’m reading on NPX, or stuff that’s neither of those things.

Whatever happens, I won’t ever give your email to someone else or fill your inbox with spam (unless you consider me by myself spam, which I cannot technically refute, as I am made of meat. Meat, water, and hope.)

And that’s pretty much it! Go take a look around. Skim (or read?!) a play you haven’t. I hope you enjoy. :)

Also, I looked it up. Gray is the more American spelling, while grey is the more British one. Look at us.
